Does anyone still goof around with vending machines? I remember back in 2007 you could press a certain button combo and get free stuff. My friend showed me in high school.

Yeah wasn’t it? Maybe I hung out with a super nerdy crowd.

I’m sure you can still do it to the older ones, but expect Johnny Law to show up on your doorstep.

At my dad’s work, they used to have an older Pepsi machine. Put your quarter in, push and hold your selection, and you could empty the machine out of that particular drink. Can’t remember if it worked for every selection, or just a specific one.

Its fun when you find a glitch in the machine like that. Thats better than what my friend did. He could get into a service menu but all the selections were locked.

I remember how you could get double drinks on the one you pictured by jamming the machine with your hand. I may or may not have done it while at the airport for many hours once.

Sounds painful, does your hand get stuck?

We would do it when I would hang out with him when he was working 3rd shift. We’d empty it, and put them all in the fridge so other people could have them. The guy who maintained the machine knew about it but just didn’t care. They never fixed it until they just updated the machine, admittedly probably sooner than normal. Damn I miss the 90’s sometimes.
Are you talking about new machines though? The Coke Freestyle machines run some old version of Windows I believe. That’s really cool getting to that service menu though. Could have a lot of fun with that.

I’m talking about Vending machine in general. xD I think that old at my school was from 2003 or so. Yeah it was neat you could see the amount of money in the machine lol.

On Coca Cola brand machines press (numbered from the top down on old machines, or left to right starting with the top row on newer machines) 4, 2, 3, 1 to access the debug menu. If done correctly, the machine will display “Eror” (error). Now, buttons 2 and 3 will scroll through the menu options. Button 1 will confirm your menu selection (like an ‘enter’ button), button 4 will return you to the previous level of menu (like a ‘back’ button). Holding the Coin Return will reset the machine to normal.
Depending on the position of various switches inside the machine, menu options can include Temperature, Price, Sale (hold selection for free drink), Dispense (dumps money), and Display (shows amount of money in the machine) among others.
Usually the machines are not set up to allow changes to price or free vend, but I have come across a few that were.

Back in high school we had a vending machine you could stick your whole arm in and clear it out.
